Whoohoo! My sister's fiancee (OP) loan got funded on Thursday and the title changed to his name on Friday...so we now officially have the house! We were just waiting on the keys Friday afternoon but the seller's agent didn't end up calling till today (Saturday) morning and OP should have the keys by now. I'll finally get to go see the house..I saw it when we first went to look at it but it was filled with furniture and clothes and now I'll get to see it naked! hehe I'm excited! Though I'm gonna miss living with OP's family in Ontario...they are the best!

So last nite a friend of mine who's a grad student at UCR, had a birthday party/homecoming for his g/f/house warming party at his new place in Riverside. I got there around 9pm and saw some friends and mingled for a while and then I was talking to the guy who threw the party, who is from Sweden, and he was talking about fish eggs and another friend of mine said oh yea it's good. So then he asked me if I've had it and I said no and in my head I'm like, fish eggs??? So I tried it and he said fish eggs are what they call caviar, and I'm like ooooooh tv shows eat that all the time (I was thinking from Three's Company hehe) anyways...so I tried it and in my opinion, I didn't really like it, it tasted fishy! I mean it was interesting...and I was so dumb I asked my friend so what is this made of..and duh Lena, fish eggs! haha Anyways...it was a green color and very very small balls...yucky! Not gonna try that again. I'm all about trying new stuff so hey new experience. I also tried this swedish treat which are chocolate balls but if you translate it to swedish it is called nigger balls. It was really yummy! chocolate yum! It was a fun nite overall. But I had to leave early cause I had to wake up early today for work...bleh! Only 9 days of work left this job. Countdown has begun! I just hope I find something cool before then.

So Saturday we finally got to go inside the house and get the keys and garage door openers...it's a nice house but for some reason I felt weird when we were walking thru the house downstairs and upstairs...maybe cause it was empty without furniture. What that house needs now is furniture!

So Sunday morning we all got up and got ready and wait to the house. It was me, my sister, her fiancee and his aunt/uncle and their kids. Sunday was an Indian holiday so moving that day is good luck. So first we did a little prayer and usually it would have been my sister's fiancee's sister who would do the prayer, but since she is up north and she is married, she would not be able too. So then it would be me since I'm to-be sister-in-law and I'm not married so I got to perform the prayer, of course with help from his aunt! Then we started to move our stuff into the garage and that pretty much took all day, driving from Ontario to Chino Hills back & forth again & again. But we found a shortcut that's only 10 miles without the free! So that helped

Then at nite we were all beat and hungry and ate at this Greek cafe/restaurant called Daphne's. They have Daphne's in a bunch of places but we ate at the one near Ontario Mills mall. It's yummy! I had a pita chicken sandwich. And we all shared hummus...yummy!!

Whoohoo my favorite season is not winter, summer, spring or fall, but Laker season!! Also start of Hockey season...hehe (Go Kings!)
Although my favorite holiday is Halloween and it's in the Fall so I like Fall too! Anyways...the games have been coming at 11pm at nite cause they are in Hawaii and Hawaii is 3 hours behind our time...so Tuesday nite I watched the first half so I could see Gary Payton and Karl Malone play with my Derek Fisher & Shaq. Too bad Kobe couldn't play! Fisher made 2 3-pointers in a row!! Go FISH!!!

I think Lakers could make championship again this year...and hopefully Kobe will be able to play too!

Oh and yesterday I was watching MTV Cribs where they show you celebrity homes and they showed us Shaq's home in Florida I think it was and DUDE it's nice!! He has an 8 foot bed and the blanket on top has the Superman logo on. And so does his shower and his closet is the size of my bedroom!! Dude these guys are rich!

So this past weekend we got all settled into our new house. My sister's fiancee's (Nirav) mom, sister, brother-in-law, and their daughter (Isha who is just so cute!!!) came down and helped us settle in. We also went shopping for essentials, like toilet paper, shower curtain, etc....

The house is nice...our first night was Friday nite, but 1 thing I don't like is new houses come with spiders and I terribly terribly arachnophobic! Like big time!! Those 6 legged creates give me the creeps. They're like monsters!! How do I get them to stop coming in the house?! RAID!! haha That's my weapon!

Me & my sister's family & Nirav's family also met up and talked about my sister & Nirav's wedding which is next May. I'm so excited! All that attention for me! haha j/k Indian weddings are cool cause they are a 3-4 day event and the family has so much fun!

Even though it's a nice house, I still miss my apartment in La Palma and being close to LA. I hope I find a job in LA!!!

Oh and Nirav's niece (Isha) is so smart for 14 months! She loves climbing stairs...it was so cute she kept going up and down up and down. And she said my name!! Whoohoo!!

Wow LA does have a lot of traffic...it's probably cause LA is the best city in the world and everyone moves out here!
This morning I left for work @ around 7:30 & around 8:20 my sister calls and says come take me to work. What happened was because MTA and metro lines went on strike today, her fiancee (Nirav) decided to drive her to work. Well he had to be at LAX airport to pick up his boss (from Arizona) by 8:50 & because there was so much traffic it took Nirav almost 2 hours to get 50 miles...so he dropped my sister somewhere and I had to go take her to work at Downtown LA. I didn't mind being late to work since tomorrow is my last day. But she bought me coffee cause I was so sleepy!!! mmmm coffee!

Today I went out to lunch with my 2 co-workers...I'm gonna miss talking and working with both of them We went to a restaurant called Kabuki's. Yummy!

TONITE: LAKERS GAME!!!

So yesterday was my last day at work. I was kinda sad but also kinda happy. I'm gonna miss some of my co-workers. The escrow company we work with, the 2 girls there, Drina & Vivian, they took me out to Red Robin for lunch. They also got me lotion and a card. So sweet!! The real estate agent that works with my ex company, Carolann, she got me Bvlgari perfume!!! Oh My gosh!!! Isn't that too sweet!!!?? She is such a sweet lady. We had fun when we had to do the Saturday event together.

You know what sucks? Cable modem dude isn't coming to the house till Oct 24th!!! No Internet access or TV till 24th!! Ahhh I'm gonna go insane! Plus I don't have a job so finding a place to get Internet is gonna be hard Darn!!! Well my sister's fiancee has a laptop he just has to install the router to the house.

I'm at Kinko's now fixing my resume...so gotta go. Have a great day!!

Yesterday (Thursday) was a cool day. My old advisor and friend, Linda O'Neill, invited me for lunch out in Riverside. She was the lady who helped with the clubs when I was a student at UCR. We went to our favorite place, Simple Simon's. They have this awesome dessert called chocolate nut bomb!! YUMM!!!!!! So she treated me for my birthday (so sweet!!) and I got a chicken sandwich, 1 chocolate nut bomb (for my sister), and Linda got us chocolate cake! It was delicious!!

When I first got to Simple Simon's (which is right near the Mission Inn Hotel in Downtown Riverside), I couldn't go to the restaurant. There were cops everywhere and security. At first I was worried cause maybe there was a robbery or murderer...then I assumed maybe they are making a movie cause then they would not allow people to walk near by (like me). So then I went to Simple Simon's thru the back and before Linda got there, they opened up Main st. and let ppl in. So Linda told me that Arnold (our new governor) and George Bush were meeting at the Riverside Convention Center and staying at the Mission Inn!! No wonder there were so many men who looked like the MIB!! hahah

After lunch we went to UCR cause Linda wanted to introduce me to her new lady who helps advice students...that lady Tara, she wants to help me find a job and help me with my resume. Really nice lady! Then I went to go visit my ex-boss Eilene. It was great seeing her!!

Riverside really looks different...so much construction going on!!
Dana...now I must come and have lunch with you and Al, next week maybe??

I'm at the library using the Internet right now...it's cool cause the library allows just for Internet browsing and stuff...and tons of computers.

Tonite my friends from Arizona are arriving...whoohoo trip to the airport for me!

I had a great weekend! My friends from Arizona, Parthavi and Shreya and their boyfriends, Tomas and Nilit came over. Friday night me and Parthavi went to go pick up Shreya, Tomas and Nilit from LAX. Parthavi was already over in LA because she had gone on the Ensenada/Catalina/SD cruise with a friend of hers. Then that night we went to the Irvine Spectrum and ate at this Meditteranean place called Nara Nara. It was some of Parthavi and my sister (Valleri's) old high school friends and a couple other girls from Arizona. Then Saturday Parthavi and Shreya bought me a ticket to Disneyland for my birthday and took me with them. We went on a lot of rides using the fast pass. Also, Tomas' cousin works in Disneyland and hooked us up on the rides and also got us awesome seats to see Fantamsic. Around 5:30 I left Disneyland and went to meet my friends at El Torito to celebrate the October birthdays. I was so sad that I couldn't stay but I'm glad I got a chance to go. It was awesome seeing everyone cause I miss everyone and hopefully next time we all get together, I'll get to stay longer! Take a look at the pictures my good friend Dana put up.

Oh also, in Disneyland, Parthavi loves Goofy so we went to Toontown and took a picture with Goofy. Well Parthavi wanted a group picture so I wasn't gonna be in it but then made my way in it and Goofy saw me and put his hands around me too!! SO sweet!!! He's my new boyfriend! hehe

Sunday we went to California Adventure and that was awesome too! We got there around 3:00pm and also got hooked up with fastpass tickets and got to go on the cool rides without waiting in line. The first ride we went on was the Grizzly water ride. Parthavi wanted to get soaked and she did! hehe Then we went on this ride in a huge orange and it's a swing ride. I was scared cause I don't like getting dizzy and I'm afraid of heights but it was cool. Then we went on this freefall and it was freaky cause they straped us in and then they said due to technical difficulties the ride won't start for another 1.5 minutes...at this time I'm like "why isn't the ride starting...I don't want to go"...and I was grabbing Shreya by the hand but then it was and what a rush!!! Then we went on the cool roller coaster. It was awesome!!! It has a loop which scared me but the rest was great!! Then we went on Soaring over California and that was great. It's kinda like Star Tours where you feel like you are moving...and it takes you over parts of California like Palm Springs, Napa Valley, orange groves (where you can smell the oranges) and then redwood trees (where you smell the redwood) and of course Downtown LA (whoohoo Staples Center!!). Then we went on the roller coaster 3 more times in a row!!! hehe

Monday I took them to Santa Monica cause they wanted to put their feet in the water and we ate at this Indian restaurant down there.
It was an awesome weekend and I miss them so much already!!

So Monday my ex coworker calls me and says please come back we really need you. Then my boss talks to me and says that I'm sorry we could use you thru the holidays and when you find something else you can leave. I really didn't want to go back but because I need the money I had too...and my co-worker kept persuading me and I'm nice so I came back. So today was my first day back. At first very weird! But now it's like I never left. Though in the back of my brain I know they laid me off and I don't want to stay here too long. So I'm gonna crazily search for a new job...though my co-worker wants me to stay till at least January. hahah no thanks!

Let's talk about my Lakers. They are not doing so well. Thank goodness it's still preseason!!! Phew!!

So last night was the 7th preseason Lakers game and then 1st one for Kobe Bryant. I thought the game was good...both teams were playing hard! Too bad the Lakers ended up losing...but that's okay, it's only preseason! Phew!
They played against the LA Clippers. The Clippers were totally playing hard...so hard that Maguette (one of the players) had to go to the Locker room because of a bloody lip! And Devon George had a nasty fall on his ankle, but he was fine. Go George!!

But my sister's fiancee was telling me that they are probably going to trade in Derek Fisher mid-season! NOOOO!!!!! He's my favorite player! I hope they don't...I'll be so sad. But Gary Payton is someone who could do his job better but still, I think Fisher is awesome!

Happy Diwali!! Today is an Indian holiday called Diwali. Diwali stands for festival of lights. We put lights in every room to light the house and also in India they have fireworks...kinda like 4th of July.

Last night my friend Foula took me to the ballet. Well she got me tickets to the ballet for my birthday and it was yesterday. It was in Costa Mesa performing arts and it was nice. It seems like it's such a hard dance to do cause you have to tipey-toe. The girls are so skinny too! oh my!

It was weird cause this morning I woke up and it was orange and very smokey cloudy outside and there was ashes all over the cars! And we went outside and it was snowing ashes. Those fires going on are really bad. Just heard on the news that there is a new one that is affecting Cal State San Bernardino. So sad. And so yucky outside. A while ago it was smelling like both the smoke and cows!!

FINALLY I have Internet connection at home!! We got cable modem at home yesterday whoohoo!! And we have cable tv too and get some cool channels for a couple months (like MTV2 and MTV jams hehe). This morning I was watching Legally Blonde...it's a cool movie!

Last night me and my sis went to my cousin's house for Diwali. We did a little prayer and each got money and had sweets and then had dinner. We also put lights outside and left all the lights on in the house. But then the house started smelling really bad cause of the ashes and smoke so we had to close the doors and windows.

Tonite is another Indian holiday called Bhai Dhuj. Bhai stands for brother in Hindi. So the girls are supposed to show their love to their brother (or cousin brother) and feed them sweets and then they get a gift. Tonite we are going to my cousin's house to celebrate. We have 3 cousin brothers. More good food!!

AHHH!!! Laker season starts today!! WHOOHOO!! The happiest day in the world! haha I'm excited! Too bad I have to miss the game but *hopefully* will make it for the 2nd half or at least 4th quarter.

I'm so sad about what is going on with Kobe & Shaq. What is wrong with them?!?! Shame on them! They should just be nice and hug each other and say sorry...at least for the sake of the team and coach Phil Jackson and of course Derek Fisher!

Wow do I LOVE coffee! This morning I left home at 6:40 and got to my work area pretty quickly, around 7:55 (and work starts at 8:30) so I had time to get coffee from the Mobil mini-mart. They had this french vanilla and oooooo it's so good! And it was only $.79 cents! Hazelnut is yummy too! I just love the smell!

Today is my friend Phuong's birthday. Happy Birthday!! May all your wishes come true.

Last nite I helped make a yummy dinner. My sister's fiancee (Nirav) taught me how to cook shrimp and I made pasta and salad. It was yummy! The shrimps were REAL spicy so my sister was complaining and I was laughing!!! hehe
I can't wait till I learn how to cook Indian food cause he doesn't know how to make it.

Whoohoo it's my favorite holiday today, Halloween! I just love candy!

Last nite I kept waking up...I don't know why I just kept getting up at 3:15 then 4:15 and then 5:15. I was gonna wake up at 5:30 anyways so I just got up at 5:15 so right now I am SOOOOO tired!! So sleepy! I just can't get used to sleeping in my own room.
So I left home around 6:15 and went to this coffee shop called Seattle's Best Coffee and got a white chocolate mocha. YUM!! Then sat in traffic and finally got to work at 8:00. Work is at 8:30 so I just sat around reading.
